Ed Perez was elected to the Reclamation District 1000 Board of Trustees in November 2022. He currently serves as the Chair of the Urbanization Committee and is a member of the Personnel Committee. He also represents RD1000 as an Alternate Member on the Sacramento Area Flood Control Agency.
Perez retired from a 34-year career with the State of California where he served, among other things, as a senior manager at a water agency, where he became intimately familiar with water management, flood protection, and emergency response. In 2017, he was deployed as part of the emergency response to the Oroville Dam incident.
Ed is also very engaged in the community. He currently serves as President of his local homeowners’ association and is a member of the North Natomas Community Coalition, an umbrella organization for community associations in North Natomas. He is a board member with the Asian Pacific Islander American Public Affairs (APAPA) and served as President of the City of Sacramento Civil Service Board. In 2025, Governor Newsom appointed Perez as a public member to the Physician Assistant Board.
